a bit of interiors...

We're about to move into a new apartment. While moving is not my favorite thing, I really love settling into a new place and finding new pieces, letting go of old ones. I've always been drawn to the top example's vibes of richness and comfort. I absolutely love it's bright, glossy walls. The simplicity sets off the second example, but I love it for the handrail and sconce. I love everything about the third and fourth example, except maybe those long tapers. I might DIY the tall wooden headboard with some upohlstered panels in the new apartment; I'll keep you posted. Speaking of DIY, I can't wait to get some plants growing in the new place! You could put a trellise like this in a window and A. you wouldn't need blinds and B. you'd have several plants in an apartment without it being total chaos, which is sometimes a difficult feat. Which reminds me: do you have any brilliant kitchen storage solutions? I'm not exaggerating when I say we have about 1.5' of counter space, and it's broken up. Help me out?

  1. Im currently moving into a new apartment as well and am pretty much in the same boat - i love purging old things and starting over with a fresh interior, but i have limited space to work with. I love your headboard diy project idea - giving me ideas of my own! Also feel like the more plants the better (especially in the city). One idea for limited kitchen space is to hang pots/pans on the wall or over the sink, and of course install tons of shelves. You could also buy a chopping block, which could double as counter space when necessary, if you have the space!

  2. yeah, that's what we've done - a giant butcher block, and we just had to get a new stove so we went with a ceramic flat top and i was happy about it, but once it got here and turned into a countertop, i'm so excited! there's no wall space for shelves, but there's enough space it's just soooo awkward and inefficient. but we'll make do!
